Steelesque is very excited to drop their 3rd EP, SongSwan. SongSwan was engineered by Dan Novak, at Aardvark Studio, in Steubenville, OH. The band recorded 7 songs live in the studio environment. We decided on 4 songs that would make the record.
The EP will go live July 1st on all major streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Pandora, YouTube, Tik Tok, etc)
One night, the spring of 2014, five guys played some good music in Sonic Planet Studios, Pittsburgh PA. I decided to set up a room mic (Rode NT1a) , guitar mic (Shure 58 Beta) and hit record. I eventually went back to have a listen and the moment was there. Big-brash-rock and roll drums that I couldn’t really EQ, tasty and free flowing slide guitar, mando licks and lockdown piano. A great sonic canvas for songs I wrote last year. It was a different interpretation of each of the songs but it worked this night. It certainly wasn’t a perfect performance by any means but the emotive appeal supersedes the perfect mistakes. Download and drag these songs into your iTunes Library. I mean……they’re free.
Sealed In Wax,
Steelesque is the moniker that Pittsburgh singer/songwriter, producer, engineer and musician, Rob Eldridge, coined for himself when he set out to bring a “rough and ready indie blues sound” to Steel City last year. Eldridge recorded Steelesque’s lo-fi debut EP, Johnny On The Spot with the help of drummer Josh Egan. Eldridge played the guitar, bass and keyboards for the recording of the EP.
